Instructions of the Dean of HAMU on faculty operations from 7.12.2020

Dear students and esteemed colleagues,

Based on a decision by the Czech government in connection with the PES anti-epidemic system, the Czech Ministry of Education is allowing universities to further relax the current measures. Effective starting Monday 7 December 2020, artistic instruction will be allowed to take place on school premises for the first and last years, i.e. for students in their 1st and 3rd years of bachelor's programmes and both years of master's programmes, in groups of at most 20 students. Students of all years of doctoral studies will be allowed to visit the faculty in order to carry out their ISP.

It also remains possible for students of all years to make use of "individual consultation sessions" with a teacher and potentially an accompanist.

Specifically, this means the following for instruction, individual consultation and preparation for the individual years:

a) first and graduate years of bachelor's and master's programmes and all years of doctoral programmes: practical artistic instruction in groups of up to 20 students. Voice and Opera Directing Department, field of Opera Directing - in the case of practising the opera repertoire through ensemble rehearsals, at most 3 students can sing at one time while keeping a distance of at least 3 metres.

b) all years: individual consultation with teachers of the main field in the format of 1 teacher, 1 student, potentially 1 accompanist

c) preparation for individual consultation: in the format of max. 1 student, potentially 1 accompanist. Students may only use their department's classrooms or instruction rooms. Departments decide themselves whether to use the existing reservation systems for individual consultations and preparation therefor on weekdays. To reserve classrooms for Saturday or Sunday it is a requirement to utilise the reservation system or inform the relevant department secretariat of the reservation by Friday at noon at the latest.

d) teaching of theoretical subjects: remote learning remains in place for all years at present. Teachers may make use of the faculty's technical facilities for such instruction.

All hygienic measures must be observed by both instructors and students during their whole stay in faculty buildings, in particular covering of the nose and mouth (does not apply for players of wind instruments and singers while performing), with distancing of at least 2 metres and regular disinfection of the hands.

The faculty management will inform of any potential further easing of restrictions on the part of state authorities without delay.

Other technical and organisational administrative instructions:
