Only those students who have studied the given specialisation at the bachelor's level or whose study plans from another university with the given specialisation correspond may apply to study.

Entrance exam

To consist of an interview about professional issues, about the applicant's focus in their master's studies, their planned master's project and the topic of their thesis.

Graduates of other universities shall also submit their bachelor's thesis. They will also be subject to an orientation exam in the scope of a summary of the bachelor's programme in three basic areas:

  1. pedagogical methods of dance instruction
  2. methodology of a selected dance technique
  3. educational systems, figures, institutions

Graduates of other universities shall send in along with their application video recordings of at least two complete choreographies (not fragments) of a differing nature, composition or number of dancers (a maximum of one solo) of at least 8 minutes or longer. One choreography of greater scope and importance of no shorter than 15 minutes (e.g. bachelor's thesis work). The submitted works shall also include annotations, the creative team and when and where the choreographies were presented.
For the choreographies sent in, the work with the music and space, uniqueness of movement material, dramaturgical structure and potentially the art and musical concept will be assessed. Also part of the admissions procedure is creating a choreography for the assigned music and an interview. Attached to the application please include at least two confirmations on sharing of the video recording as hard copies and also send them in a machine-readable PDF to

To consist of an interview about professional issues, about the applicant's focus in their master's studies, their planned choreographic project and the topic of their thesis.

Graduates of other universities will also undergo an oral orientation exam on the history of dance and ballet, a written test of knowledge of music theory, will submit their bachelor's thesis and present their third sample from choreographic work.

Graduates of other universities shall, in addition, submit their bachelor's thesis, a summary of the published works and also undergo an oral orientation exam on the history of dance and ballet and a written test on musical history and theory.

Foreign students applying for the tuition free study in Czech language need to provide a certificate of Czech language proficiency of B2 level or higher (in accordance with CEFR) from an acredited institution along with their application.
