EVOLUCE - COMPOSITION DEPARTMENT HAMU & PRAGUE PHILHARMONIA

22. May 2026 19:30

The annual orchestral concert of the Composition Department at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague is one of the highlights of the academic year. It features the premieres of works by students in their final years of bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs. Collaborating with a conductor and an orchestra provides an opportunity to gain experience that is otherwise largely unattainable for young composers.

The quality of these concerts is also evidenced by the fact that live recordings have been broadcast in recent years by Czech Radio on the program Futurissimo. This year, the Prague Philharmonia, conducted by Marko Ivanović and Igor Karpilovskij, will perform compositions by Ema Krátká, John Franek, Marko Karpilovskij, Benjamin Kotík, and Patrik Herman.
