Dear students and esteemed colleagues,
Based on current epidemic situation in the Czech Republic, in connection with the extraordinary measures stated by the Ministry of Health and in connection with the Rector’s measure regarding the operation and functioning of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague effective from 26 April 2021 effective starting Monday 26 April 2021 the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague will be operating under following instructions:
a) Contact instruction of arts (hands-on teaching) in the format of at most 6 persons in one classroom (for example 1 teacher, 1 accompanist, 4 students). This measure is valid for all specializations including Voice, Opera Directing, Jazz Interpretation and Chamber Music.
b) Preparation for instruction of arts: Students can only use the classrooms or practice rooms of their department. Students will not be allowed to borrow classroms / practice rooms without reservation through thre reservation systhem.
Mandatory testing: Students of final BA and MA years and all PhD students as listed above are obliged to get tested once every 7 days (antigen testing for SARS-CoV-2), testing for these students will be provided by the faculty. For testing reservation students are obliged to use the reservation systhem of AMU HERE. Testing will take place every Monday and Thursday in HAMU Atelier, the capacity of the testing site has been increased for this purpose. Negative result of this antigen test will be valid for 7 days.
If a student tests at a different test point than the official test point of AMU, they shall produce a certificate of a negative test result not older than 48 hours.
a) Individual consultations: all years of study of all study rogrammes with teachers of the main field in the format of at most 1 teacher, 1 student and, if necessary, 1 accompanist. Students are obliged to vacate the HAMU campus as soon as the consultation is concluded.
b) Preparation for individual consultations: in the format of at most 1 student and, if necessary, 1 accompanist. Students can only use the classrooms or practice rooms of their department. Students will not be allowed to borrow classroms / practice rooms without reservation and will not be allowed to enter the campus. Students are obliged to vacate the HAMU campus as soon as the consultation is concluded.
Mandatory testing: Students of the study years mantioned above (1st and 3nd year of BA programmes and 1st year of MA programmes) are obliged to get tested on their own at any testing site as valid up until now. The certificate of a negative test result will be valid for entry of the AMU campus for 7 days.
The exemption from the testing duty for everyone entering the AMU campus: applies to those who have suffered from covid-19 during the last 90 days (beginning with the first positive test result; this is to be demonstrated by a solemn declaration – the template is available for download HERE) as well as to those who have been vaccinated (on expiry of 14 days from being administered the last required dose – to be demonstrated by a vaccination certificate).
Teaching of all theoretical subjects: remains in remote (online) format for all years. Teachers may use the faculties technical facilities for these lessons.
During their entire stay in the faculty buildings, the teachers and students are obliged to maintain all hygienic directives, in particular based on the Rector’s notice effective from 25 February 2021 covering their mouth and nose WITH A RESPIRATOR (this does not apply to wind and brass instrument musicians and singers when performing), regular airing of the classrooms and practice rooms, social distancing of at least 2 metres and regular hand sanitizing.

On-site administration will be restricted to the most urgent support. Homeoffice is preferred during this week, essetial personnel will be present at HAMU campus for necessary time periods only.
Essential consultations between instructors and administrative staff will be held via phone or email communication only. Essential meetings will be held online.
The Study Department will be accessible during student opening hours on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am to 1 pm, on Thursday 10 – 12 am and 2 - 4 pm
Operation of the faculty including the administration is governed by the PES HAMU systhem.
