ELECTION FOR THE ACADEMIC SENATE OF AMU

Pursuant to Section 8 of Act No. 111/1998 on tertiary education, Article 4 of the Statutes of AMU,
and Article 2 of the Election Rules of the Academic Senate of AMU, I hereby stipulate that the election for the Academic Senate of AMU for the term of office from 2024 to 2027 shall be held on 5 and 6 March 2024.

Under clause 2(3) of the Election Rules of the Academic Senate of AMU, I appoint Mr Filip Malý, Vice-Rector for Development, the Chair of the election panel.

The election shall be held in electronic form. The election panel shall inform the academic community of AMU about further particulars including information on the manner in which the election will be held in accordance with the Election Rules of the Academic Senate of AMU.

AS AMU has 15 members in two chambers, a teachers’ chamber and a students’ chamber. The members of the teachers’ chamber are elected from among the academic personnel of AMU. The members of the students’ chamber are elected from among AMU students. The teachers’ chamber has 9 members and the students’ chamber has 6 members. For each Faculty, three members are elected for the teachers’ chamber and two members for the students’ chamber.

Candidates for AS AMU for a Faculty may be nominated by any member of that Faculty’s academic community and of school-wide teaching workplaces outside the Faculty, and any member of the Faculty’s academic community and school-wide teaching workplaces outside the Faculty may run for the position. The candidateship for the teachers’ chamber of AS AMU is not interchangeable with the candidateship for the students’ chamber of AS AMU.

The election panel shall collect the candidate nominations for both chambers of AS AMU with the deadline on 22 February 2024. Submit your candidate nominations in hard copy with a signature of the proponent and with a written consent of the nominee to: Malostranské náměstí 259/12, 118 00 Praha 1.
