In accordance with Articles 18 and 19 of the Statute of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, the Dean of the Music and Dance Faculty of AMU in Prague (HAMU) hereby announces the following rules for the admission procedure and conditions for admission to the Bachelor's degree programme in full-time study in the English language in the academic year 2027/2028.
Study in English is subject to a fee in accordance with the current Dean's Decree.
Full-time study

Combined study - This degree program will not be offered for the 2027–2028 academic year

Each applicant is entitled to pay the fee for the acts connected with the admission procedure at any time from the moment of submitting the application for studies, but no later than 30 November 2026. If the applicant fails to pay the fee by the specified deadline and in the specified form, the admission procedure will be terminated.
Applicants will not be refunded the fee paid for the admission procedure (see AMU Statutes, Article 20, paragraph 2).
The applicant shall fill in the application form truthfully and completely and submit the application form only in electronic form in the AMU application form (at: https://prihlaska.amu.cz/apps/kos/prihlaska/wpr_webapp_pg.main?p_view=&p_action=changeLang&p_lang=AN) and pay the application fee; in the event of failure to properly complete the application form in the system or submission by other means, the application will be considered invalid and the admission procedure will be terminated.
The mandatory annexes (see Annex 1 to this notice) must be submitted electronically by the applicant via the application form at: https://prihlaska.amu.cz/apps/kos/prihlaska/wpr_webapp_pg.main?p_view=&p_action=changeLang&p_lang=AN. The listed mandatory annexes shall be sent in paper form by post to the following address. Each department sets specific dates on which the admission procedure will take place. Invitations and information about the admission tests, including the specific date of each round, will be sent by the department to the applicant exclusively by e-mail to the e-mail address given in the application form at least 15 working days before the date of the admission test. Communication with applicants takes place electronically via email.
The candidate is obliged to confirm receipt of the invitation electronically.
The candidate is obliged to register in person at the HAMU Study Department before the entrance examination according to the instructions in the invitation.
In case the department requires additional materials for the 1st round, e.g. video recordings, scores, recordings, electronic records, links to internet storage, or CD/DVD media (apart from the application form and mandatory attachments, see annex to the decree), the applicant is obliged to send these materials directly to the relevant department to the appropriate e-mail address. Failure to deliver the required materials by the deadline coinciding with the application deadline will be considered as failure to meet the conditions of the admission procedure, which will be terminated accordingly.

The final score and ranking of applicants is determined by the Admissions Committee by a majority vote of the members present, in accordance with the AMU Study and Examination Regulations of 9 February 2026. In the event of a tie, the vote of the chairperson of the admissions committee is decisive.
There is no alternative date for admission. If a candidate is unable to appear for the entrance examination on the regular date for health reasons and submits a medical certificate within 3 days of the date of the entrance examination, the Dean shall consider the excuse and may, in exceptional and justified cases, set an alternative date for the entrance examination on the proposal of the relevant department and in agreement with the relevant admissions board.
The admission procedure is conducted in English. Applicants must prove their knowledge of the English language according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) as a condition of admission to studies in English (except for applicants whose first language is English). Required English language proficiency according to the CEFR at level B2. Applicants must demonstrate this knowledge before the end of the dates of the admission procedure.
The required proof is either:
a) an official examination certificate from an accredited institution (assessed by the AMU Language Training Centre); or
b) proof (Graduation certificate) of having completed secondary education accredited in English in the Czech Republic or secondary education accredited in English abroad; the proof must meet the conditions set out in the Annex to the Decree. Without fulfilling this condition, the applicant cannot be issued a decision on admission to study.
Within 30 days of the verification of the fulfilment of the conditions, the Dean issues a decision. After receiving the decision on admission or non-admission to study, the applicant has the right to inspect his/her file, always by prior arrangement with the HAMU Study Department on a specific date for inspection. The applicant is obliged to present proof of identity before the inspection of the file, and the study department will draw up a report on the inspection process.
This Decree was discussed and approved by the Academic Senate of HAMU on 28 May, 2026.
The annex is an integral part of the decree.
The Decree shall enter into force upon signature by the Dean and shall become effective on the date of publication on the HAMU website and official notice board

List of attachments to the application for the Bachelor's degree of the academic year 2027/2028
Applicants must complete the online application form in full and submit it to the Faculty study system, and upload the required attachments via the online application or, as listed below, send them in hard copy by mail or submit them in person at the AMU mailroom by November 30, 2026; see instructions below.
Required attachments:
1. officially certified proof of the highest education attained - graduation certificate to be uploaded to the application form and submitted , in hard copy (paper form) no later than on the day of registration for the admission procedure at the HAMU Study Department, or
2. upload a certificate from the study department of the secondary school with the expected date of the matriculation examination to the application form. After graduating from high school, the applicant is obliged to immediately deliver a certified copy of the graduation certificate , in hard copy (paper form) to the HAMU Study Department by mail or in person via the AMU mailroom,
3. a professional CV, uploaded to the online application form
4. A medical certificate confirming fitness to study the Dance Pedagogy program in the Czech language, issued no more than 30 days prior, or an officially certified translation into Czech, in hard copy (paper form), submitted to the HAMU Admissions Office by mail or in person via the AMU mailroom
Additional mandatory attachments to the application form in case the applicant has completed previous education at a foreign secondary school:
The applicant is obliged to attach one of the following documents to the application:
a) proof of general recognition of the equivalence or validity of the foreign document of secondary education in the Czech Republic (so-called nostrification, see https://www.amu.cz/en/study/recognition-of-foreign-education/assessment-foreign-education-amu-admissions-process/ or
b) proof of the award of the European Baccalaureate or
c) a foreign document of foreign secondary education with a matriculation examination if it is automatically equivalent in the Czech Republic according to its international obligations without further official procedure (matriculation certificate from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia) or
d) a foreign document of foreign secondary education, which was obtained by completing studies in a secondary education programme at a foreign secondary school operating under the legislation of a foreign state and which entitles its holder to access to study in a bachelor's degree programme or a master's degree programme not related to a bachelor's degree programme in that foreign state, which the AMU itself assesses, see https://www.amu.cz/en/study/recognition-of-foreign-education/assessment-foreign-education-amu-admissions-process/ This service is subject to a fee. Without fulfilling this condition, the applicant cannot be issued a decision on admission to study.
The documents provided will not be returned. All documents are required in Czech (or officially translated into Czech) or English (Slovak is also possible).
