DEAN'S DECREE NO. 09/2025 - ABOUT THE OPERATIONS OF HAMU DURING THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS 2025

 

The Dean of the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (AMU) determines the operation of the fakulty during the summer holidays from 1 July 2025 to 31 August 2025 as follows:

 

Article 1
AVAILABILITY

From 7 July to 18 July 2025, the Music and Dance Faculty (HAMU) will be closed to all students and teachers due to ongoing construction work. For the employees of the administrative staff, normal operations will be restricted, i.e. the faculty will be accessible only when absolutely necessary and it is recommended to take a vacation or work from home during this period.

 

Liechtenstein Palace (LP)

  • The LP reception desk will be open 24 hours a day,
  • from 1 July to 6 July 2025 and from 19 July to 31 August 2025 these rules will apply:
  • for all HAMU employees the faculty premises, which are in LP, are accessible on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays the faculty campus is closed. The closure is necessary due to the implementation of repairs and general cleaning of the premises.
  • For all HAMU students, the faculty premises, which are in LP, will be accessible on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; the faculty campus is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Students will be allowed access to the faculty premisses for the purpose of training only on the basis of enrolment in the reservation system to specific classrooms and premises of the relevant department, which have been designated by the head of the relevant department for the period of summer holidays. In the event that repairs and maintenance of a specific classroom that is entered in the booking system are required, it will be blocked from the booking system in advance by the building administrator for the period of repair and maintenance.


Hartig Palace (HP)

  • The HP reception desk will be open on weekdays only, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; keys can be borrowed and returned at the LP reception desk,
  • from 1 July to 6 July 2025 and from 19 July to 31 August 2025 these rules will apply:
  • for all HAMU employees the faculty premises, which are in HP, are accessible on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays the faculty campus is closed. The closure is necessary due to the implementation of repairs and general cleaning of the premises,
  • For students of the Department of Dance and the Department of Nonverbal Theatre, the corresponding areas will be accessible from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., including the release of the locker rooms (after which the locker rooms must be released for cleaning); the faculty is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays,
  • For students of the Department of Wind Instruments, the corresponding areas will be accessible on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; the faculty is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Students will be allowed access to the fakulty campus for the purpose of training only on the basis of enrolment in the reservation system to specific classrooms and premises of the relevant department, which have been designated by the head of the relevant department for the period of summer holidays. In the event that repairs and maintenance are required to a particular classroom that is entered in the booking system, it will be blocked off in advance by the building manager for the necessary time during the repair and maintenance period in the booking system.

Article 2
OFFICE HOURS

  • From Tuesday 1 July 2025 to Sunday 31 August 2025, the office hours of all administrative offices, except the Study Department, are set for Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • The Inspiration Theatre will be closed to the public from 1 July to 30 August 2025 (in July the theatre will be undergoing technology and stage maintenance, in August it will be closed for holiday).  
  • The Study Department will be closed for renovation from 30 June 2025 to 1 August 2025. In the period from 4 August to 31 August 2025, office hours are set for Tuesday to Thursday from 10:00 to 13:00.
  • Secretariat of the Dean - the operation of the Secretariat is assured, the staff will be informed about its possible short-term closure. In case of the Dean's leave, a substitute is provided, information is available in the Dean's Secretariat.
  • The Departmental Secretariat (door no. 1057) - will be available online only from Friday 4 July to Monday 21 July 2025 due to floor reconstruction and will be completely closed during the week of 18 August to 22 August 2025 due to the holiday period.
  • The library will be closed to the public from 1 July 2025 to 31 August 2025. Urgent cases can be solved by telephone (tel: 234 244 113 or 234 244 193).
  • The HAMU sound studio will be closed from 1 July to 31 August 2025 for reconstruction of the sound overhead and maintenance of the recording studio equipment. The office hours of the studio office are set from 1 July to 31 August 2025, Tue-Thu from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm.
  • Technical administration of HAMU - service is available on line 121, 115 or 116 and on mobile numbers 777 888 603 (Ing. OPENING HOURS OF THE FACULTY CAFÉ

from 01.07. to 31.07. 2025                          closed - holidays
from 04. 08. to 31. 08. 2025                        open Mon - Fri from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
from 12. 08. to 30. 08. 2025                      open from 18:00 to 24:00
(only during the Summer Shakespeare Festival performances)  

 

Article 4
FINAL PROVISIONS

This Decree shall take effect on the date of its issuance and shall be effective from July 1, 2025 to August 31, 2025.
